Air Canada presents its new A321XLR and 787-10 Business Class cabins

At the ongoing Hamburg Aircraft Interior Expo, Air Canada unveils its latest version of its business class cabins, which will be installed on its newest A321XLR and Boeing 787-10. Here is what they’re going to look like and what to expect as a passenger.

Air Canada’s Next-Gen Glowing Hearted Cabins

The event in the aviation industry at the moment that people are looking at more carefully (at least the insiders) is the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, Germany.

At the event, Air Canada has taken center stage by announcing its new A321XLR and Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner aircraft interiors touching up its Signature Class cabins.

It is particularly interesting to see what Air Canada is going to set up its A321XLRs with, as this will be the airline’s first narrow-body aircraft featuring a real business-class cabin with direct aisle access for all passengers.

On the Boeing 787-10, on the other hand, Air Canada has presented an enhanced version of its business class product.

The concept for these new business class interiors is called Glowing Hearted. This concept brings the comfort of lie-flat beds onto the A321XLR and seats with enhanced privacy on the Boeing 787-10.

The most important update to the Air Canada premium product is what the airline is going to be doing on the Airbus A321XLR. This plane will be the first narrow-body long-range aircraft in the Canadian carrier’s fleet. And it will also be the first to feature lie-flat beds with direct aisle access for all passengers in business class.

There will be seven rows of Business Class in a 1-1 cabin layout. Each seat will be faced inwards, therefore away from the window, which might leave some aviation enthusiasts dissatisfied. The IFE on this seat will feature a 19-inch 4K OLED screen in business class, while it will be a 13-inch in economy.

Across all cabins, there will also be AC power outlets with high-powered USB-C sockets.

On the Boeing 787, on the other hand, Air Canada is introducing an enhanced version of its Signature Class, which is its business class.

What it really consists of is that the first row of business class will be rebranded as Signature Plus. With four seats enjoying greater space and privacy, thanks to a sliding privacy door. The bed itself will also be longer, reaching the length of two meters.

The IFE in business class we’ll have screens of up to 27 inches with a 4K resolution and OLED technology.

Throughout the planes on the A321XLR and the Boeing 787-10 with the glowing hearted concept installed passengers will be able to connect their own Bluetooth headsets directly to the IFE system.
