Delta has become, particularly over the past few years, the leading premium airline in the US travel market. The airline has elevated its standards and become the leading force in the industry. To continue to maintain its top dog status the carrier is looking to further expand its offering of premium facilities and lounges in 2025. Here’s what Delta frequent flyers should lookout for in the coming months.
A new Delta One Lounge Coming to Seattle International Airport
For the non-frequent flyers Delta One lounges are the most luxurious and highest level of service facility the American carrier offers to its most loyal customers. Access to these lounges is restricted to passengers holding elite status in Delta’s Skymiles frequent flyer program or those passengers traveling in Delta One Suites on international services. Therefore, as you might have understood the group is quite the small one.
However those who do fall in this demographic will have a new facility to enjoy soon in 2025. Delta is, in fact, preparing to open a new Delta One lounge at an airport of growing strategic importance, Seattle-Tacoma. The new lounge will be ready by summer 2025 with an all new 11,000-square-foot space featuring, among other things, an open air terrace with views of Mt. Rainier.
The Washington state airport is becoming more and more strategic as it is Alaska Airlines and now Hawaiian’s main gateway for transpacific routes. Therefore this new variable has brought new competition to this hub which other carriers didn’t have to deal with before.
Other Sky Club Upgrades Coming in 2025
There is more to the Delta One lounge in Seattle-Tacoma international airport. Delta is set to open other lounge facilities across the country in 2025. These other facilities will be of a lower tier than the Delta One lounge at Seattle.
Specifically they will all be Delta Sky Club lounges which have less stringent access criteria. The new lounges to enter the Delta facility network will be located at:
- Atlanta – in the renovated concourse D of the world’s busiest airport near gate D13. A very impressive 23,000 square-foot space will welcome passengers starting spring 2025. The new lounge adds to the offering at ATL airport along with those present in concourses A and C which will also be renovated
- Salt Lake City – Utah’s gateway is undergoing some major expansions and part of that will see Delta open a Sky Club in the airport’s concourse B. A 34,000-square-foot space which will open in Q4 2025.
Lounge expansions will also be opened in 2025 at:
- Philadelphia – a 2,000-plus-square-foot expansion will welcome passengers in Q4 2025.
- Orlando – a 3,300 square foot expansion is soon to enter service too.
Where Are Delta One Lounges Situated in The US and Abroad
The new Seattle Airport Delta One Lounge will add to a very short list of other airports which host such an amenity. Delta only has its most premium lounges at 3 airports, awaiting for the fourth to come online.
Delta One Lounges are located at:
- Boston Logan International Airport
- Los Angeles LAX
- New York JFK Airport
Therefore, the opening of another West Coast Delta One Lounge will balance the presence of these facilities on either US coast.
It is worth mentioning that there are no Delta One or SkyClub lounges outside of the US. The airline’s strategy is quite clear, concentrating only on serving only passengers within the US with its most premium airport services.
