Emirates has renewed its look and onboard business class experience over the last couple of years. Finally it let go of the infamous no direct aisle access seats in Business class introducing a much more modern 1-2-1 setup with a refreshed look. Now the time has come to modernize the lounges to reflect what passengers experience onboard.

What the New Lounges Will Look Like
The new lounges have an entirely new look and feel, and I’ll get into why that is later on in this post.
The color palette is changing to lighter and brighter tones as is also what passengers will experience when visiting the facilities.

The investment is a substantial one Emirates is taking on. Each lounge renovated is setting the airline back 50 million AED (Emirates Dirhams) which equates to 11.9 million Euro.

Aligning Lounge Look With New Onboard Cabin Interiors
It was time for a change in look and feel for Emirates’ lounges, as the airline has changed significantly its business class cabin interior appearance over the past years.
The new business class cabin is extremely different to the prior version featuring a lighter color palette.
Consistency is one of Emirates main focuses in terms of service and product. That didn’t really hold up when boarding the new business class from the older generation of premium airport lounges.
Introducing this new lounge concept allows the airline to work on the discrepancy aligning what passengers experience on the ground with the onboard cabin.

Frankfurt First Then The Rest of The Rollout
Emirates has already opened the first of its new generation lounges in Frankfurt International airport.
FRA was the perfect airport to host the first lounge as Emirates had to relocate from Terminal 2 to the brand new Terminal 3. The timing was simply spot on to open the new lounge concept here.
The new lounge concept will then rollout at key strategic airports across the Emirates network. Before 2026 is over the carrier will open new generation airport lounges at:
| Airport | Airport Code | Opening |
|---|---|---|
| Manchester | MAN | July 2026 |
| Mauritius | MRU | August 2026 |
| Istanbul | IST | October 2026 |
