Korean Air Business Class Lounge at Incheon Airport: New 2025 Renovation with Live Kitchen Stations

A lot has been going on with Korean Air over the past months. The Korean flag carrier has taken over its main competitor, Asiana Airlines, acquiring the airline from the Kumho Group (yes the same one that produces tires). Now, its working on refreshing its image and most importantly (for this post) renovating its facilities ahead of the full Asiana integration. In this post I’ll look at what the new Korean Air airport lounges will look like at Seoul Incheon international airport.

Korean Air Business Class Lounge Renovation: What’s New at Seoul Incheon

Korean Air on its own is a fairly large airline. The carrier transported north of 24 million passengers in 2024. It needs to gear up for many more though as the integration with the now owned Asiana Airlines moves forward. The total number of passengers flying under the unified Korean Air brand will grow and so will the need for further lounge space at Seoul Incheon airport.

Korean Air has just presented the first lounges to reopen to passengers on August 18th. This is the first phase of a much broader lounge renovation which will continue well into 2026 when all lounges will finally be once again available to passengers.

If I can add my two cents, I visited the Korean Air Prestige Lounges (Business Class Lounges) in late 2024 and wasn’t blown away. The lounges were rather simple with no real wow factor. What I’m trying to get to is, I think the Korean Air business class lounges at Seoul Incheon were due for a restyle.

Prestige Class is what Korean Air calls its business class. Also the Miler Club Lounge will temporarily welcome first class passengers until the dedicated first class lounge reopens in 2026.

Live Kitchen Experience in Korean Air Business Class Lounge

Korean cuisine is absolutely fantastic. As I’m writing this post I can’t wait to get on with my next trip to Korea. However, what the old Korean Air Prestige Lounges (Business Class lounges) offered was rather underwhelming. The food options were nice, but I had a feeling of variety wasn’t where you’d expect it to be for an airline of Korean Air’s status.

That should no longer be an issue with the opening of the new Korean Air Miler Club and Prestige Lounges. Both will feature new “live stations” which weren’t a thing in the old lounge setups. Here chefs from the Grand Hyatt Incheon will cook up Korean and western dishes on site.

Western options will include:

• Hand-tossed pizzas
• Freshly baked croissants
• Chef-carved beef steak

Korean local dishes, which I personally find way more enticing, include:

• Freshly rolled gimbap
• Tteokguk at the new noodle bar
• Janchi guksu

Both lounges will have a dedicated bartender who will prepare cocktails upon request, and exclusive to the Miler Club Lounge will be a barista to prepare freshly brewed coffee.

Korean Air Prestige Lounge vs Miler Club: Access Requirements and Differences

It can be confusing to navigate who gets into which lounge when it comes to Korean Air. The airline’s website doesn’t have clear information in this regard. So before moving further into the post let’s clear this up.

The Miler Club Lounge differs from the Prestige Lounge as it is dedicated to elite Skypass loyalty status holders. Prestige Lounges are dedicated to passengers traveling business class, or that alternatively hold Morning Calm or Morning Calm Premium loyalty tier status in Skypass.

Seoul Incheon Terminal 2: Korean Air’s Four Renovated Business Class Lounges

Korean Air lounges are doubling in number and covering Seoul Incheon Terminal 2 more evenly. If you’ve ever transited through T2 at Seoul Incheon you’ll know that the distance between the main body and the furthest points in the structure’s arms is big. All lounges, until now, were in the terminal’s main body which meant that you had no facility in proximity of the furthest gates.

That’ll change with the opening opening of the two new Prestige Garden (east and west) lounges. They will support the Prestige lounges in the main terminal body. This will help spread out passengers avoiding overcrowding.

The Korean Air Prestige Garden Lounges get their name from the fact that they overlook two green areas. The east lounge overlooks a Korean style garden while the west one a modern western garden.

Korean Air Business Class Lounge Amenities: Wellness, Tech, and Meeting Spaces

Shifting attention back to what is inside the newly renovated Korean Air business class lounges, they will feature:

• Wellness areas
• Massage chairs
• Tech zones (with working stations)
• Meeting rooms with a conference screen
• Shower facilities

Korean Air Lounge Design: Traditional Hanok Meets Modern Luxury

Something else that I found underwhelming in the Korean Air Prestige Lounge in 2024 is the lack of design and distinctive architectural design. It seems I wasn’t the only one. The Korean Air business class redesign will bring a brand new look and feel to these premium airport spaces.

A color palette of gold, charcoal, black, and ivory mirrors the Korean Air’s premium cabin colors, with the lounge interior decoration taking inspiration from Korean architectures such as the Hanok. Hanok are the traditional Korean houses made of wood.

Korean Air Business Class Lounge Capacity: Preparing for Asiana Integration

So why was all of this necessary? Apart from my feeling that the lounges were due for some modernization work, the Asiana Airlines acquisition somewhat forced Korean Air to work on its airport lounges. As Asiana Airlines fully integrates and merges into the Korean Air brand there’ll be suddenly many more passengers expecting to use the airport lounges.

Without expanding its lounge floorspace and capacity Korean Air airport lounges would be overwhelmed and overcrowded. Something that would heavily harm the airline’s reputation as a premium travel option.

With all lounges completed and renovated by June 2026 total Korean Air lounge space at Seoul Incheon international airport will jump up from current 5,105 square meters to 12,270 while capacity will almost double from 898 to 1566 seats.
