Korean Air opens renovated first class and prestige class lounges at Seoul Incheon T2

After having opened its renovated East Prestige Lounge, Korean Air is now opening to the it’s frequent flyers. It’s the renovated West Prestige Lounge and First Class Lounge at Seoul Incheon T2.

A further step for Korean Air’s lounge renovation

Korean Air is really putting a lot of work into its rebranding. It is much more than just a simple change of the name, change of the look and feel, and product update.

Because the airline has acquired its largest domestic competitor, Asiana Airlines, it has to create a new brand and new brand identity that will one day encompass the two entities.

That means also gearing up its lounges to deal with a greater number of passengers and frequent flyers using them. With the two airlines merging into a single operation in the near future, more loyalty members will be needing somewhere to spend their time before and after flights.

That’s where the massive 110 billion won (63 million euro) lounge renovation effort comes into play.

In all honesty, having visited the Korean Air Prestige Lounge in 2024, they were in need of an update. They just felt out of date compared to what you can find flying on other SkyTeam airlines.

That’s why it’s great news that finally there is something new to look forward to when flying Korean Air and transiting Seoul Incheon T2. As for the opening dates:

• The first class lounge opened on April 17th, 2026.
• The Prestige West Lounge opened on April 16th, 2026.

Korean Air’s new look for its first class lounge

The new layout of the Korean Air first class lounge at Seoul Incheon T2 is a massive leap forward for passengers.

The new layout covers a total of 921 square meters of floor space, which translates to roughly 2.3 times what the old lounge consisted of.

As you’d expect from a facility of this sort, dining is à  la carte. Also, the space offers an open hall area and 11 private suites. That gives passengers the option of enjoying a social space or retreating to a more relaxed environment.

Decorating the space are pieces of art from world-renowned sculptors and artists. Among few other names: Anish Kapoor and  Korean artists including Kim Young-joo, Lee Bae, Yoo Bong-sang, and Chae Sung-pil.

Massage chairs are available on site along with showers to refresh between flights.

What does the Prestige West lounge look like?

Also significant is the update of the Prestige West lounge. Prestige class being a Korean business class product. The lounge is located opposite the Prestige East Lounge, which is the one that I visited in November 2024, right after security at T2.

The lounge now covers a total of 2,615 square meters, offering seating for up to 420 people. The color palette is completely different to what it used to be, with heavy use of gold, black, and ivory.

The catering has been updated and upgraded with an expansive buffet featuring Western and Korean cuisine dishes. That is curated by the Grand Hyatt chefs.

Korean Air got kind of creative with the art and decorating of the lounge. They went with a digital art installation which changes according to the time and the viewing angle.

Finally, this lounge too offers massaging chairs and a tech zone, which should enable people to work more comfortably on the go.
