Korean Air Reopens Its Fully Redesigned Prestige Lounge at Incheon Airport

Korean Air has revealed and opened its newest lounge at Incheon International Airport in Seoul. This is the first milestone of a large scale lounge modernization and upgrading plan Korean Air commenced in August 2025. The new lounge will serve Prestige Class passengers at Seoul Incheon Terminal 2 and comes with an entirely new setup, look and feel, which, spoiler alert includes a “Ramyeon Library” and a cooking studio.

The Progress Since August 2025: The Prestige East (Left) Lounge Opens

The Prestige East Lounge is the first milestone in Korean Air’s plan to renovate all of its premium traveler dedicated spaces at Incheon International Airport. From January 14th, 2026, passenger traveling business class (Prestige) with Korean air can now enjoy a totally redesigned, functional, and entertaining space.

The new lounge looks very different from what it was a few months ago. I visited the lounge in 2024 and my impressions were of a flat, rather boring place. Not something I would part way with a substantial amount of money to visit and experience. Now includes new seating arrangements, new dining areas, bar, and food stations.

More technology now also helps manage the lounge and create a smoother customer experience.

• Access can be booked in advance for passengers acquiring access using vouchers or mileage. First, Prestige and SkyTeam Elite can continue to access without reservation.
• On the lounge management side, real-time crowd monitoring is now present. That will help passengers choose the least crowded lounge to visit.
• Mobile queueing will allow to get in line for space at the lounge without the need to linger by the entrance.

Korean Air also added a perceivable touch of Korean identity in the lounge, which I felt was missing before. The three areas that create this feeling are the:

• Ramyeon Library
• Cooking Studio
• Arcade

That might not sound quintessentially Korean, but hold on there and let me explain why in my opinion they are.

What To Expect Inside the New Prestige East Lounge

The newly renovated Korean Air Prestige lounge at Incheon Airport, in its new form covers an area of 1,553 square meters and will accomodate up to 192 passengers in peak traffic hours.

The lounge features the standard “work-friendly” stations and areas. However what really makes this lounge interesting are the so-called “experiential zones”. Three themed areas that bring the Korean spirit into the new KE (Korean Air) lounge.

• Ramyeon Library: an upgrade over the plain setup in the prior iteration of the lounge. With K-Food growing in popularity worldwide, and ramyeon being central, it also becomes a center piece in this new lounge with an entire wall unit style library of Ramyeon. Also additional toppings are available. This brings the most popular Korean food into the lounge.
• Cooking Studio: it is exactly what it sounds like. A new space where cooking participation-based classes take place. A new experience offered in collaboration with the Incheon Grand Hyatt. If you have visited Korea, you might know how big the country is on experimenting new food assortments and compositions. This new space brings that Korean trait to the lounge.
• Arcade Room: a space with air hockey, foosball, photo booths, claw machines and other video games. Clearly a space for the younger travelers. Yet again something that comes from Korean society. If you’ve ever taken a stroll through Hongdae in Seoul you’ve certainly realized how Arcades are an integral part of the Korean “experience”.

The lounge now features a new bar area, show cooking stations and a buffet. Finally, shower facilities retained their place at the lounge for those who want to freshen up between flights.

Korean Air’s Asiana Integration Moves One Step Further

What the opening of the renovated Prestige lounge marks is a further step taken towards completing the Korean Air-Asiana integration, for two reasons:

• The new lounge, as will the next new lounges to open, reflects the new brand identity the airline launched in 2025. The new brand identity will eventually also include Asiana. However, to have that level of consistency across the entire operation all assets must be updated.
• With Asiana fully under the Korean Air umbrella passenger volumes will become greater and better equipped spaces will be necessary. This renovation has doubled the lounge’s floorspace anticipating such need.

This new lounge also steps up Korean Air’s game marking a change in the airline’s service standards. A lounge opening that is part, as mentioned above, of an ambitious plan to renovate all of it premium passenger dedicated spaces at ICN airport.

What to Look Out For Next From Korean Air’s Lounges

Expect a lot of Korean Air lounge news in 2026. The Korean carrier is hard at work to finish renovating the remaining lounges at Seoul Incheon Terminal 2. That includes renovations on First Class, Miler Club and Prestige West lounges.

All renovations have a tight timeline, with renovations expected to finish by June 2026. That is not a lot of time for such a big project that impacts the highest paying customers.
