The Paris air show had seen Airbus take the spotlight gathering huge orders one after another. The tables have turned at the Dubai Air Show as Boeing is racking up most of the larger orders. However there is still some significant and interesting news coming in at camp Airbus. The European based manufacturer has got its hands on another firm order for its most successful wide body long range aircraft. Egyptair has in fact placed an order for the ULR capable Airbus A350. Egyptair Places Airbus A350 Order
The order Egyptair placed with Airbus is quite straight forward:
- 10 Airbus A350-900 will join the Egyptair fleet.
All 10 planes will be powered by Rolls-Royce XWB Trent engines.
Why Egyptair Ordered the Airbus A350-900
Egyptair is one of the main carriers in the African continent. The flag carrier of Egypt is not only an important lifeline for local tourism but also a gateway to the African continent for many travellers around the world. One of the few airlines in the region with a true extensive long haul network. A network that reaches as far as Washington DC in the US.

Among these the Airbus A330s are the oldest with some almost 20 years old. Therefore the need for some new planes to take over these ageing planes is quite prominent, hence the order just placed with Airbus.
Which Cabins Will the new A350-900s Feature?
As this is a completely new aircraft type to the Egyptair fleet, the big question is: which cabins will the carrier fit on them? It hasn’t been revealed so we’ll have to wait and see if we’ll see something similar to what was fitted on the fairly new Boeing 787-9 planes or something completely new.
