Cathay Pacific First Class Returns to Selected Destinations

Although many airlines are going in the direction of removing first class from their flights, Cathay Pacific brings it back after the Covid induced absence. The Hong Kong based airline is bringing back its most exclusive travel experience on a selection of flights. Let’s find out to which destinations and the details about the return of Cathay Pacific First Class.

About The Return of Cathay Pacific First Class

First class is more and more rare to find on commercial aircrafts these days. Airlines are progressively opting to fit more business class and premium economy seats instead of first class.

However Cathay’s first class still lives on in the post-covid era. As of December 2022 first class is only available on one daily flight to London Heathrow (LHR) flight number CX251/252.

Moving into 2023 the destinations featuring this exclusive experience will increase and will include:

  • Paris (CDG) flight CX261/260 starting January 18th
  • Tokyo Haneda (HND) flight CX548/549 starting February 1st

Available Only On 777 Fleet

What these 3 flights (CX251, CX261 and CX548) have in common is that they will be all operated using the same aircraft type. Cathay Pacific‘s first class cabin is only installed on its fleet of Boeing 777-300ERs.

The other long range aircraft, their Airbus A350-900 and A350-1000, feature instead a 3 class configuration comprised of Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy Class.

So if we see new flights resume or commence first class operations with the Hong Kong home carrier they will exclusively be on their 777 fleet.
