Jetstar Increasing Frequency on Sydney to Seoul Flight JQ47

There has been a lot of action on the Sydney to Seoul sector. Between late 2022 and early 2023 we saw 2 airlines tackle this route. Korean low-cost carrier T’Way entered the market while Qantas made a return on the route after a 15 year absence. Along these two airlines Korean Air and Jetstar complete the lineup of airlines operating Sydney to Seoul flights. Today I’ll be taking a closer look at Jetstar’s future plans for its flight.

The Plane For The Flight

The 787-8 is the aircraft of choice for the Sydney to Seoul Jetstar JQ47 flight, as is the case for many of this carrier’s long range flights.

The Jetstar Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners all come in the same configuration featuring:

  • 21 Business Class Seats
  • 214 Economy Class Seats

Business class is in a very low cost oriented 2-3-2 configuration. The seats do not transform into a flat bed and only recline so don’t expect the same product you would get on JQ’s mother company Qantas. Seats are produced by German manufacturer Recaro and have a 9″ recline.

Economy class on the other hand is configured with a standard 3-3-3 configuration for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
