When Will the New Melbourne Jakarta Qantas Flight Start?

Jakarta isn’t a new destination on the Qantas route map. The Australian airline already operates a regular service to the Indonesian capital from Sydney’s Kingsford Smith International Airport. However what was missing was a direct flight from Melbourne.

This means that anyone looking to travel with Qantas between Melbourne and Jakarta had no other choice than transit through Sydney. That is until April 16th 2023.

From then onwards there will be a Qantas direct flight option, flight number QF39 which will cover the distance in just over 7 hours on the outbound leg and 6 hours 40 minutes on the return sector.
