Australia is quite an interesting aviation market to study. The country has most of its population concentrated in its major metropolitan areas. Therefore, airlines have intuitively decided to primarily focus on services linking these major population centers. However, outside these areas are many smaller towns whose livelihood depend on the air links offered by airlines. Among them is Broome in Western Australia. Its airport is soon to get a major facility upgrade as Qantas has decided to invest in renovating its lounge. Here are all the details.
Qantas Renovating Broome Regional Lounge With an all-New Look
Broome is located deep in the north of Western Australia, in a remote area far away from anything else. The only reason the town and its airport exist is to welcome tourists interested in experiencing the majestic beauty of the local beaches while relaxing at a resort.
In fact, the airport along with having year-round flights to Perth, it also has seasonal services to Sydney and Melbourne. Those are some long non-stop flights for a small airport the size of Broome’s.
With many leisure travellers transiting through the airport facilities Qantas has decided to invest in upgrading its current lounge along with the terminal facilities. The new Broome Regional Lounge will double the space available for passengers waiting for their flight. This follows the airline realising that there has been a constant and consistent demand for premium travel to this destination.
The new interiors will be inspired by the Kimberley region Broome is situated and will come with a total price tag of 100 million Australian dollars. This investment comes as part of a much wider commitment by the Aussie airline to renovate its network of lounges on a global scale.
