British Airways Introduces a Daily Flight to Florence in Summer 2023

Holiday makers travelling on British Airways in 2023 will have a new destination to choose from in 2023. The British flag carrier will connect starting summer 2023 London Heathrow Airport to Florence Italy. Let’s find out what the news is all about and the schedule of this new BA flight.

Why Not Many Airlines Fly To Florence

Although Florence is one of Italy’s largest cities not many airlines operate in and out of its airport. First of all because of the size of Amerigo Vespucci Airport in Florence. The airport isn’t particularly big and its runway can’t accomodate large planes.

Also as Florence is well connected to Rome, Milan and Bologna via high speed rail, often airlines opt to fly into one of these cities airports. Rome, Milan and Bologna all have large international airports capable of handling larger aircraft and volumes of flights.
