New route alert from British Airways. To be precise it’s BA Euroflyer that is announcing a new flight. Not a substantial difference since BA Euroflyer is an entirely British Airways owned subsidiary that flies short and medium haul out of London Gatwick airport. The essence is that BA is launching a new route. The English flag carrier will start serving flights to Fuerteventura from London Gatwick under flight number 2710. Here’s all the details on how the flight will operate.
The Fourth BA Euroflyer Canary Island Destination
British Airways’ short haul Gatwick based subsidiary will be serving Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands starting late 2023. This will be the BA Euroflyer’s fourth route from London Gatwick (LGW) to the Canary Islands following services to:
- Tenerife
- Lanzarote
- Gran Canaria
The flight will be a regular presence in the airline’s schedule, however it won’t be a daily service as we’ll see below.
British Airways Flight BA2710 London Gatwick to Fuerteventura Details
Flight BA2710 will start connecting London Gatwick (LGW) to Fuerteventura (FUE) on November 2nd 2023. The service will start off with a twice weekly frequency featuring flights every:
- Thursday
- Sunday
However in 2024, ahead of the spring and summer seasons the airline will be adding a further third weekly flight upping frequency and capacity on the sector. The third flight will be added on February 28th 2024.

The Aircraft for Flight BA2710
BA Euroflyer will use both its A320s and A321s on this new London Fuerteventura flight. There isn’t anything particularly special about these two planes. They are quite similar, the only difference is the cabin length. On the A321 it can accomodate a larger number of passengers.
Both planes though feature the same cabin type with a 3-3 (6 abreast) configuration throughout the cabin. However in the first rows the middle seats will be blocked to create the European business class in order to offer 2 classes of travel.
