British Airways Expands Eastwards with Flights to Tbilisi Georgia

British Airways is, no doubt about it, among the best-connected airlines in Europe. Its network spans across Europe and leveraging the facilities of its massive base of Heathrow it connects London to almost any major city in the world. This latest network expansion will allow new traffic to flow towards London and onwards to long-haul services. Starting early 2025 British Airways will be commencing flights to Tbilisi, Georgia, with new flight number BA890.

British Airways Expanding to The Borders of Europe with Flight BA890

The new flight BA890 will further expand the current British Airways route offering. The flight will easily become one of the longest, in terms of flight time, service aboard a European configured single aisle aircraft.

British Airways will be serving the route with one of its Airbus A320neo which come with a one class configuration. As has become common place among European carriers, Business class will be created simply by blocking the middle seat of the three on either side of the aisle. Not the most luxurious way to fly on such a long narrow body route, as flight BA890 clocks in at just over 5 hours. I must point out though that it’s not like you have much of an option on getting from London to Tbilisi. As of now, there are no non-stop flights on the route. BA will effectively be the one and only.

Not only does the flight have such a long flight time, but it also is the most classic example of a redeye service on the outbound leg. The flight from London Heathrow over to Tbilisi will fly through the night to arrive just after sunrise.

The Most Classic of Redeye Flights Out to Tbilisi

I already mentioned on how this will become one of BA’s longest narrow body routes. Also, flight BA890 will be the most classic redeye flight example you can have. The airline will be operating the outbound flight from London Heathrow to Tbilisi all the way through the night. Here’s specifically how the flight schedule will work.
