Abu Dhabi Returning to the British Airways Destination Network
The largest most lucrative flight for British Airways in the middle east region is clearly the London Heathrow (LHR) to Dubai (DXB) sector with up to 19 weekly flights offered. However pre-2020 the airline used to serve the other major aviation hub of the UAE, Abu Dhabi. That flight though hasn’t been part of the BA network since due to the drastic reduction in travel demand.
That is all about to change as the London Heathrow to Abu Dhabi flight will be returning to the network map in 2024. More precisely it’ll start operation from April 20th 2024 onwards.
The flight makes a whole lot of sense as it connects the UK’s capital with the capital of the UAE which is home to a very large British expat community. Therefore this flight will be catering to holidaymakers, business travellers and expats making travelling back home.

The Aircraft For the New British Airways BA73 Flight
British Airways will be deploying on the route its Boeing 787-9s. These planes features the complete assortment of travel cabins with:

- 42 Business Class Seats in a 2-3-2 layout
- 39 Premium Economy Seats in 2-3-2 layout
- 127 Economy Class Seats in a 3-3-3 layout
What is to be noticed on this aircraft type is that the 42 business class seats alternate in facing forwards and aft in the cabin. All business class window seats are aft facing so keep that in mind if it’s something you generally don’t like.

Finally if you wish to have the maximum privacy you probably should opt for a window seat. These, thanks to the cabin layout, are well hidden.
Looking at the economy class, there aren’t any seats that will give you particularly more comfort, apart from the emergency exit rows.
