Cyprus Airways Launches Larnaca Dubai Service

Most of the news we get in the aviation world regards the big players of global air transport. However today we’ll be covering some news from one of the smaller airlines in the European landscape. Today we’re touching base on the latest route launched by Cyprus Airways, the island’s national carrier.

The New Cyprus Airways Larnaca Dubai Flight

Just this week Cyprus Airways launched its very own Larnaca Dubai flight. This route is already served by the much larger carrier Emirates, which serves it as a standalone destination and also as part of its Dubai Malta flight.

The much smaller Cyprus Airways will be flying the Dubai Larnaca route initially twice per week. Flight number CY106 will connect the Cypriot capital of Larnaca to Dubai every Wednesday and Saturday until June when a third daily flight will be added. The flight has different scheduled departure times depending on the day of the week.

A Little About Cyprus Airways

The current Cyprus Airways is not the same legacy airline that used to be the flag carrier until 2015. This is a new carrier that started operations in 2017 when Charilie Airlines acquired the trademark and the right to use the Cyprus Airways brand.

The airline is gradually expanding its destinations and will, in the coming years, acquire new generation Airbus A220-300s.
