Following a comprehensive renovation, the German flag carrier unveils a "dynamic and mobile" ground experience at Terminal 1, catering to the critical business traffic of Baden-Württemberg’s industrial heartland.

Stuttgart airport finally has its Lufthansa Lounge back. The German flag carrier had temporarily closed its premium airport lounge in order to upgrade the facility. However, as 2025 draws to a close it is once again open for business and here's what it looks like.

A New Design Identity: “Dynamic, Industrial, and Mobile”

The key concepts driving the Stuttgart Lufthansa airport lounge at Terminal 1 are “dynamic, industrial, and mobile”. The new lounge has a whole new look and feel which also aligns more with the new Lufthansa Group brand identity the group recently revealed. Across the space plenty of Lufthansa palette colors, such as orange, gray and dark blue.

The lounge is now open for business welcoming passengers. Renovations are completed and the lounge reopened on December 16th 2025.

The lounge is located at Stuttgart airport Terminal 1 at level 4. It is an important facility for the airline in a strategic city. The lounge, which will serve Business and Senator tier travelers, comes, as whole, a with new and upgraded facilities such as:

  • Barista coffee bar
  • Multi-comfort zones
  • Dining areas
  • Work areas
  • Relax areas

However, some facilities are only accessible in the Senator section of the lounge. More on that below.

Breaking Down the Two Exclusive Areas

The Stuttgart Lufthansa Lounge that just reopened, as already mentioned, will welcome both Business class travelers and Senator tier Miles&More passengers.

The lounge has a single entrance area, however, it has exclusive areas accessible only to Senator frequent flyers. That part of the lounge will be where the barista coffee bar will be. Arguably the most premium feature of the entire new Stuttgart Lufthansa lounge.

Strategic Importance: Why STR Matters for Lufthansa

Stuttgart despite not being a strictly speaking focus city for the Lufthansa mainline, is a strategic city for the group as a whole.

The Lufthansa mainline only operates flights to its two hubs of Munich and Frankfurt from Stuttgart. The city home to major industrial and manufacturing companies and sees many business travelers fly in and out. Not only, there's also a wide audience of leisure travelers to serve. That's where Eurowings comes into play, which is the most active airline of the Lufthansa Group at STR airport.

Combined Lufthansa and Eurowings operate flights to over 60 destination in 21 countries, mainly in the medium and short range radius.

Access and Eligibility

Access to the lounge is now regulated by use of an automated and digital access control system. What that means is that you'll scan your boarding pass and the gate will open automatically if access eligibility is met.

Overall access to the lounge is ensured to:

  • Senator tier Miles&More members (or higher)
  • Lufthansa Business class travelers
  • Eurowings Business class travelers
