After having confirmed flights to Rome Fiumicino and Nice for the coming year, Icelandair announces a new summer destination. In this case the destination is Tel-Aviv Ben Gurion International Airport. Let’s find out when and how the Icelandic airline will be flying to Israel in 2023.
About The New Icelandair Reykjavik Tel-Aviv Flight
As many routes on the Icelandair network Tel-Aviv too will be a seasonal destination. The route aims to intercept passengers looking to explore the beauty of Iceland in the warmer months of the year.
The flight is by no means a short one. The Keflavik (KEF) Tel-Aviv flight is just about 5200km (3200miles) and will take approximately 7 hours to cover. Almost comparable to a transatlantic crossing from Europe to the US east coast.

The flight from Tel-Aviv to Reykjavik will also allow passengers to transfer onwards to the United States on Icelandair’s network.
Flights will commence operations on May 10th 2023, and will continue all through the summer season until October 29th 2023.
The Aircraft For the Flight
The flight will see one of 14 Boeing 757-200 that the airline operates in a 2 class configuration. Depending on the registration number these long range narrow body planes feature either:
- 20 or 22 Business Class seats
- 161 or 151 Economy Class seats
The business class seats are not lie-flat new generations seats but an older recliner version, in a 2-2 configuration. This means the window seats don’t have direct aisle access.
Economy class on the other hand features a classic narrow body configuration in a 3-3 layout. Each seat has its own IFE system and the plane also offers in flight Wi-Fi access.
