Emirates is opening the floodgates in regards to flights to Canada. The Dubai based airline, following the renewed air transport agreement between UAE and Canada, has dramatically increased its operations to the North American nation. A New UAE Canada Flight is Born
In past weeks we saw a flurry of operations receiving power ups between the UAE and Canada and new flights being established. For instance:
- Etihad and Emirates both made their flights to Toronto (YYZ) a daily connection.
- Air Canada on the other hand launched a new service from Vancouver (YVR) to Dubai (DXB)
The new Emirates Dubai Montreal flight EK243 therefore follows in the footsteps of these previously mentioned services. This is possibile, as mentioned above, thanks to the new Air Transport Agreement between the countries. The agreement lifted many of the limitations previously imposed.
About Emirates Dubai Montreal Flight EK243
The wait won’t be too long before we will see planes in the EK livery flying across the Atlantic Ocean from Dubai to Montreal. The first inaugural flight is scheduled to depart DXB international airport on the 5th of July 2023. However tickets are already available for sale at this moment.

From November 5th to March 9th 2024
- Flight EK243 will depart Dubai (DXB) at 02:30 arriving into Montreal (YUL) at 07:15.
- Return flight EK244 will depart Montreal (YUL) at 09:30 arriving back into Dubai (DXB) at 06:40 the next morning.
Onwards From March 10th 2024
- Flight EK243 will depart Dubai (DXB) at 02:30 arriving into Montreal (YUL) at 08:00.
- Return flight EK244 will depart Montreal (YUL) at 10:20 arriving back into Dubai (DXB) at 06:30 the next morning.
Which Plane Will Fly On the EK243 Route?
First of all there won’t be an Airbus A380 deployed on this route. Emirates intends to fly EK243 with its classic ULR Boeing 777-300ER configuration. These Boeing 777-300ERs are capable of carrying in a 3 class configuration just shy of 360 passengers. Specifically the Emirates 777-300ER features:
- 8 First Class Suites
- 42 Lie-Flat Beds
- 304 Economy Class Seats
Keep in mind that the EK 777 offers a 2-3-2 business class configuration. This means that window and central seats that don’t have clear aisle access. While economy class has a 3-4-3 layout. So it tends to be a quite densely configured aircraft for URL flights when compared to other operators.
