Few things can make an onboard experience go from average to an unforgettable experience as service and catering can. So much of a passenger’s flight experience revolves around these two key aspects. Even more if you are a passenger travelling in a premium cabin. There the impact of a fine dining experience is far deeper. Therefore, airlines are on the constant lookout to update their menus and onboard catering offering to keep passengers coming back for more. Spirits are a huge part of the whole experience and help it become a premium product with the right offering. Emirates, despite being an Arab airline is among the airlines that invests most heavily in it wines and spirits. Fall of 2024, however, will bring a update of their offering in all travel classes. Here’s what it’s all about.
Adding More Premium Spirits in all Classes
To be precise Emirates isn’t replacing any of the current spirits offering, it is expanding it. Meaning that passengers across all classes will have something new to taste and look forward to on upcoming flights. Unsurprisingly first class is getting the most prestigious products and the vaster enhancement. So, let’s breakdown travel class by travel class, what Emirates is adding to its onboard spirits and alcohol offering.
Additions in First Class:
- Stoli Elit 18 Vodka (from Latvia)
- The Botanist Hebridean Strength Gin (from Scotland)
- Eminente Reserva 7 Year Old Rum (from Cuba)
These three spirits will be added to the A380 social area. Therefore, might be unavailable on flights operated by the airline’s Boeing 777 fleet. However, what will certainly be available on the 777s too is:
- Glenmorangie Signet Single Malt Scotch Whisky (from Scotland)
So quite an extensive expansion of the onboard spirits offering for first class passengers. A little touch that will help many have an even more special experience onboard.
Additions in Business Class:
- Grey Goose Vodka (from France)
- Glenmorangie Original 10-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (from Scotland)
- Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc Beer (from France)
Additions in Economy/Premium Economy Class:
- Smirnoff Vodka No. 21 Red
EK Constantly on the Forefront of Wine, Spirits and Beer Offering Onboard
Emirates is the most active airline in looking out for oppurtinities to enhance its onboard wine, spirits, and beer offering. For those that are not aware of this fact Emirates has a total exclusive deal within the airline industry with LVMH for all its Champagne labels. That means that you will only ever see the likes of Veuve Clicquot, Moët & Chandon, and Dom Pérignon served on Emirates flights an on no other carrier around the world.
The Dubai based airline also gave us some interesting insights on what passegers order the most onboard and which are the most popular cocktails. In 2023 the most ordered spirits per class were:
