Delta Air Lines

A New Transpacific Route Joins The Delta Network in 2024

Of the big 3 American carriers United is, no doubt about it, the carrier with the strongest presence in the Asia-Pacific area. Therefore Delta has to play some catch up on this side of operations. That’s exactly the reason why the airline will be launching the new ULR transpacific we’re talking about in this post. Let’s find out all there is to know about flight DL69 from Seattle to Taiwan.

About The New Delta Flight DL69 from Seattle to Taipei

DL69 marks the return of Delta on the island of Formosa. The American carrier used to serve Taiwan up until 2017 with a service via Tokyo Narita. Since then there haven’t been flights served by any of Delta’s hub on the Pacific coast to the island.

The new, returning flight, DL69 will be a direct non stop service from Delta’s most northern Pacific hub, Seattle. The flight will be from the get go a daily service, a strong commitment from the carrier, with the first service taking to the sky on June 6th 2024.

Delta Flight DL69 Flight Schedule

The flight will be quite a long service as DL69 will have to make its way over Alaska to then overfly Japan before landing into Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE). Total flight time is estimated in 13 hours. As for the schedule of the flight, both legs have mid afternoon arrivals which are pretty good as you don’t have to fight the jet lag too long before hitting the sack for a good night sleep.

Specifically, here’s how the service will operate in term of scheduling:

The Aircraft For the Flight

The aircraft chosen for the flight is one of the most modern in the Delta fleet, the Airbus A330-900neo. This is the same aircraft that regularly serves Tokyo Haneda (HND) and Seoul Incheon (ICN) from Seattle. The plane also offers Delta Air Lines’ most modern hard product aboard.

The DL Airbus A330-900 is fitted with 3 classes of travel and 4 different seating sizes. More specifically:

  • 39 Business Class Seats in a 1-2-1 layout. Seats are the Thompson Aero Vantage.
  • 28 Premium Economy Class Seats in a 2-3-2 layout.
  • 56 Extra leg room Comfort+ Economy Seats
  • 168 Economy Class seats

Serving Another SkyTeam Hub

Establishing this new service, makes sense on a strategic alliance point of view too. Delta, as a member of the SkyTeam alliance can rely on regional connectivity offered by partner airline China Airlines from the airport in Taipei. Therefore it makes even more sense for the most profitable of the big 3 American carriers to serve this destination.
