Delta Air Lines North America Seoul

New Delta Seoul Incheon Flight Coming in 2025 for Salt Lake City

Delta has always been associated with a very strong presence on the transatlantic market. The airline offers a huge number of daily crossings from its hubs in the US to some of the most sought after business and leisure destinations in Europe. However, the airline hasn’t shied from increasing its presence on the tranpacific market either with flights to Australia and even more to Asia. The latest addition to the Delta route network, to come in 2025, too is to Asia, specifically to Seoul, South Korea.

Delta’s Fifth to Seoul but Salt Lake City’s First Flight to Asia

That’s right, despite being a focus city for Delta, and being a major US airport, Salt Lake City currently doesn’t have any direct flights to Asia. Therefore, Delta’s new service DL173 will be the airport’s first link to the continent and one of the most vibrant cities in the world.

Seoul apart from being South Korea’s capital, is a major fiancial, economic and cultural hotspot. Korea has become, more than any other country and culture, the trend setter in Asia and beyond. Having a link to such a market is a big deal for Utah’s main international airport. Also Incheon airport has developed into one of the largest airports in the continent allowing convenient transfers to flights within Korea and to the wider region, particularly leveraging Delta’s partnership with Korean Air.

For Delta, on the other hand, this flight is in no way a first. The Atlanta based airline already serves Korea’s main international airport from 4 of its hubs, namely:

  • Atlanta
  • Detroit
  • Minneapolis-St. Paul
  • Seattle

Salt Lake City will be the fifth Delta hub to get a direct and non-stop flight to Seoul-Incheon International Airport.
