Some more action is coming up for the Airbus A321neo in the United States. The A321neo is becoming more and more the go to aircraft for medium to long haul flights on thin and long routes. So let’s find out where Hawaiian Airlines will be flying the plane and all that you must know.
Hawaiian Airlines To Start Salt Lake City Service in 2024
The route the airline will be deploying its A321neo on is the Honolulu (HNL) to Salt Lake City (SLC) service. The airline will be launching services on this sector starting May 15th 2024. As many leisure focused services it’ll launch just ahead of the busy summer season in order to intercept the uptick in traffic.
The flight is thought to cater to 2 different user types, both leisure focused though. The first are holidaymakers looking to enjoy the beaches and sunshine of the Hawaiian Islands. The second are people with Pacific island background. Utah is in fact the state with the largest population of Pacific Islanders. Therefore it makes quite a lot of sense for an airline with a focus on the Pacific to serve this particular airport.
The new Honolulu to Salt Lake City Hawaiian Airlines flight HA84 will be a daily connection with quite a convenient timing for travellers. Here’s what the schedule will look like:
Flight Number | Departure Airport | Airport Code | Departure Time | Arrival Airport | Airport Code | Arrival Time | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
HA84 | Honolulu | HNL | 18:50 | Salt Lake City | SLC | 05:15+1 | |
HA83 | Salt Lake City | SLC | 07:00 | Honolulu | HNL | 09:55 |
The great thing about this schedule is that it allows passengers on either leg of the flight to have immediately a full day at their destination.
The Other A321neo Flight News for 2024
Along with the new Honolulu to Salt Lake City flight, Hawaiian will be powering up other two services from secondary island airports. Both flights are served by the A321neo. Specifically the flights are from Lihu’e and Kona with destination Sacramento International Airport in California.
Lihu’e to Sacramento will become a 4 times weekly service while Kona to Sacramento a 3 times weekly service.
The Hawaiian Airlines A321neo
Hawaiian Airlines operates a fleet of 18 Airbus A321neo. They are all configured in a 2 (a bit) class configuration. Specifically with:
- 16 Business Class Seats in a 2-2 layout
- 173 Economy Class seats in a 3-3 layout
Out of the 173 economy class seats 44 are extra comfort seats which offer greater leg room to passengers, at a premium in price of course.
If you want to get your hands on some extra leg room try to snatch seats 34A and 34J as they don’t have a seat in front of them.
