Dubai International Airport Ready For Busiest Winter Season Ever

Northern hemisphere is the season all airlines are looking out for to bring in the big bucks. Summer is the season that can make or break an airline’s balance sheet. However the Christmas winter surge, although not as big, is also an important seasonality. Airports too look forward to these seasonalities to make extra cash from retail and slot sales. One of the busiest worldwide airports, Dubai International (DXB), is looking to record an all time high winter season. Here are some more details on how things are evolving in the UAE’s busiest airport.

Dubai International Airport Ready For Busiest Winter Season Ever

We’re still missing data from the busiest month of them all in the winter season, December. October and November though have given an indication that this is likely to be the airport’s busiest winter season to date.

With the latest flight additions, which I’ll cover in the next paragraph, Dubai International Airport (DXB) will see up to 4,400 weekly flights at the height of the seasonality.

That translates to a significant increase on what was achieved just a year ago. The uptick in traffic is in the order of a +20%. This further strengthens and confirms Dubai’s position as the main aviation hub in the Gulf region.
