Little at the time operations continue to align between Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska, following last year's buyout. The airlines have already commenced working much closer to each other and launched operations to new destinations across the Pacific to Australia and South Korea. Now they are also moving closer to each other in key strategic airports as Hawaiian Airlines relocates its operations in major airports across the US.
Hawaiian Airlines Relocation 4 Strategic Airports
After having taken over Hawaiian Airlines, one of the short term goals for Alaska is to align operations particularly by offering seamless transits across both airlines' flights. That is exactly the reasoning behind the decision to relocate Hawaiian at some of Alaska's key airports across the continental US.
Specifically Hawaiian Airlines will be moving its operations to new terminal, close to Alaska Airlines, in these airports:
- Los Angeles – LAX
- San Francisco – SFO
- Phoenix – PHX
- New York – JFK
At LAX Hawaiian Airlines check-in operations have moved to Terminal 6. As for New York JFK, both airlines are relocating to Terminal 8. Alaska Airlines is moving from Terminal 7 while Hawaiian from Terminal 4. Finally, at SFO (San Francisco) the airlines will co-locate at Terminal 1, with Phoenix to following suit.
An Improved Lounge Access For Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines Customers at JFK
Along with re-locating in new and improved facilities at JFK the two Alaska Group airlines will also be offering their premium customers a much nicer pre-flight experience. Those flying first class on Hawaiian or Alaska will now have access to the American Airlines Admirals club also located at Terminal 8. Additionally Hawaiian first class passengers will also have the additional perk of being granted access to the American's Greenwich Flagship Lounge.
