Flights and strikes are two words you never want to see in the same sentence if you have an upcoming trip. Unfortunately in Europe it not all that uncommon for it to happen. In some cases it is ground staff strikes, in most cases its ATC strikes, in this case it's a pilot strike affecting Finnair.
Up To 300 Finnair Flights Affected by Pilot Strikes in December
Finnair along with having to deal with the harsh nordic winter weather on December 9th and 13th will also have to cope with a pilot strike which will affect a significant portion of its operations in those two days. The airline has stated that up to 300 flights will be affected by the protests which will no doubt cause some headaches among passengers and flight-ops as it takes place just ahead of the Christmas holidays.
The breakdown will be approximately 140 flights cancelled on December 9th and another 150 on December 13th. That is quite a significant number of flights for an airline the size of Finnair.

What to Do if You Have a Finnair Flight Booked?
If you have a trip planned with Finnair coming up on exactly those days, chances are that you have already been contacted in some way. Most passengers are getting re-routed via other unaffected services or on partner airlines.
The issue is, that rescheduling such a vast number of passengers is no mean feat. Therefore, some passengers won't be able to travel on the same day as their original booking.
My advice, if you know you will be affected by this strike just reach out to the customer support ASAP because often re-routings and the best re-bookings go on a first-come-first-serve basis. So don't waste time.
