Condor’s expansion in Italy continues as we make our way further into 2025. The German airline recently launched three new routes in Italy, achieving solid results. This success has convinced the German leisure carrier to further increase its presence in Italy with additional flights for the 2025/26 winter season.
Condor to Maintain Frankfurt-Milan Malpensa Connections Through Winter
Since the beginning of the year, Condor has launched three Italian destinations: Rome Fiumicino, Palermo, and Milan Malpensa. The first two routes are connected through a single flight, with the airline also operating the domestic segment between Rome and Palermo. Milan, on the other hand, has its own dedicated service. The airline chose Malpensa international airport rather than the city airport of Linate. This isn’t a massive issue considering Condor’s customer base consists mainly of tourists and leisure travelers – a market segment that typically prioritizes price over the convenience of landing at an airport close to the city center.
Unlike the Frankfurt-Rome-Palermo flight, Condor chose to serve Milan from day one with two daily frequencies: flights DE4356 and DE4354. Both flights have been operating on the Frankfurt-Milan route since May 1, 2025, but the recent news is that these two daily frequencies will continue through the upcoming winter season.
Originally, the service was scheduled to end in October 2025. However, Condor, based on very encouraging sales data in Italy, has decided to extend the service beyond this date. Throughout the entire 2025/2026 winter season, Condor will continue to operate two daily flights to Milan Malpensa.

Italy: A Key Market for the German Carrier
Given that Condor’s customer base is primarily tourist-focused, Italy represents a particularly attractive market for the airline. While Condor’s main focus is clearly the German market, the transatlantic market is equally important. The airline serves numerous destinations in the United States, which means it’s an appealing option – with its ultra-modern fleet – for American travelers heading to Europe on vacation. So, with a stopover in Frankfurt, Condor enables them to reach Italy as well, competing directly with ITA Airways and Lufthansa.
