Emirates Expands Its Premium Economy Offering to Bangkok
Bangkok for Emirates is an important destination. It drives both business and leisure travel demand from Europe, the Middle East and Africa ensuring high load factors year-round.
So much so that it’s uncommon to board an Emirates flight to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi and find it half empty. That is rarely the case, regardless of which cabin you are traveling in.
As has been ongoing on many destination across its network, Emirates starting to introduce on its flights from Dubai to Bangkok Premium Economy as a travel class.
Initially it will only be available on one of the Airline’s 5 daily flights to Bangkok. The first flight to receive the upgrade is EK377, which is the 6AM departure out of Dubai.
The first flight offering Premium Economy arrived in Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport on October 9th. A small ceremony with interviews to airport and airline staff took place to celebrate the event.
A Newly Retrofitted A380 Takes on the Route
Flight EK377 is operated by an Airbus A380 and from now on it will be one of the newly renovated aircraft of this type.
Emirates last year commenced a massive effort in renovating its Airbus A380 fleet along with part of its Boeing 777-300ER fleet. New versions of the cabin interiors are being fitted on these planes along with the airline’s newest onboard product, Premium Economy.
As more of these aircraft come back online from maintenance they are deployed to high priority routes, such as Bangkok. I’m certain that as more planes are fitted with premium economy more of the 5 daily flights between Dubai and Bangkok will offer it.
For the time being though, your only option is to fly on EK377.
