Emirates Resumes Flights to Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires

Good news if you’re a frequent flyer to South America or just looking to plan a holiday or trip in Rio de Janeiro or Buenos Aires, Emirates is resuming flights. Let’s go over all the flight details.

The Return of The Emirates Rio Buenos Aires Route

At the end of last week the middle eastern carrier recommenced it’s 4 times weekly connections to Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. Two very popular destinations among holiday-makers.

The flight was interrupted due to the ongoing global pandemic, but has now resumed with a 4 times weekly frequency. As in pre-covid operations the flight originating in Dubai will make a stop in Rio (GRU), in Brazil, to then fly south to Buenos Aires (EZE).

This brings Emirates’ network to 90% of what it was pre-covid.

The Flight Schedule

As previously mentioned the flight has a 4 times weekly frequency. The outbound flight number is EK 247 while the flight back to Dubai will have as number EK248.

This is what the schedule of EK 247 and 248 look like:

  • EK247 will fly out of Dubai at 8:05 AM and land in Rio de Janeiro at 15:25. There the flight will have a 1 hour 45 minute stopover to refuel, cater and disembark and load new passengers. EK 247 will then fly on to Buenos Aires departing at 17:10 and arriving at its final destination at 20:40.
  • EK 248, the return flight, will fly out of Buenos Aires at 22:20. The flight will arrive in Rio at 1:10 AM where it will make a 1:45 stopover. The flight from Rio to Dubai will depart at 2:55 AM arriving at 23:35 in Dubai International Airport (DXB).

Which Emirates Aircraft Will Fly The Route?

The aircraft chosen to fly the route between Dubai, Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires is the Emirates 777-300ER. It will be likely to be configured in a 3 class layout (First, Business and Economy Class). In some instances we might find some 4 class configurations with he presence of Premium Economy.
