European and North American Summer is just around the corner and airlines around the world are gearing up for what they hope will be the busiest season since the pandemic breakout. This is exactly what Etihad is doing reopening flights to Kolkata, India. The passenger figures between Europe or North America and India are huge and tapping into this market is a key to success. So let’s find out more about this new Abu Dhabi Kolkata Etihad flight.

Etihad Abu Dhabi Kolkata Flight Details

This isn’t a brand new sector for Etihad. As a matter of fact the Abu Dhabi based airline used to serve the east Indian destination before the pandemic. This effectively is just a resumption of operations for the airline.

The Etihad Abu Dhabi Kolkata will assume a different flight number depending on the day of the week it operates. Simply because depending on the day of the week the flight changes scheduled departure time. Nonetheless this will be a daily EY flight and this is how it’ll work and operate.

On Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday:

  • Flight Etihad EY258 will depart Abu Dhabi (AUH) at 21:10 and arrive into Kolkata (CCU) at 03:30 the next morning.
  • Return flight EY259 will depart Kolkata (CCU) at 04:35 and arrive back into Abu Dhabi (AUH) at 08:15.

On Tuesday, Friday and Sunday:

  • Flight Etihad EY256 will depart Abu Dhabi (AUH) at 13:50 and arrive into Kolkata (CCU) at 20:10.
  • Return flight EY257 will depart Kolkata (CCU) at 21:15 and arrive back into Abu Dhabi (AUH) at 00:55 the next morning.

The departure and arrival times into Abu Dhabi international airport ensure that passengers can transfer seamlessly to and from flights to Europe and the US.

The Aircraft for EY Abu Dhabi Kolkata flights

The airline will initially operate this sector with one of the smaller planes available in its fleet. Etihad flights EY256 and EY258 will be operated using the airline’s Airbus A320 planes. These jets can seat up to 136 passengers when on a full load in a 2 class configuration featuring:

  • 8 Business Class seats in a 2-2 layout.
  • 120 Economy Class seats in a 3-3 layout.

Kolkata Joins the Etihad Indian Destination Club

Thanks to flights EY256 and EY258 Kolkata will become the eight destination Etihad serves in India, along with:

  • Mumbai
  • Ahmedabad
  • Hyderabad
  • Bangalore
  • Kochi
  • Chennai
  • New Delhi
