Neos is quite the interesting airline in the Italian aviation landscape. It has been profitable for many consecutive years by utilizing a flexible business model. The airline operates charter flights as part of the parent company Alpitour, one of Italy’s largest tour operators, alongside regularly scheduled commercial services. Today’s news is about a new Neos regularly scheduled service, to a market it has skillfully spotted and served over the past three years: Milan to Kazakhstan flights.

Why NEOS Is Expanding in Kazakhstan

The average person will hardly ever hear of Noes. They don’t really advertise that much nor do they operate a particularly big route network. However, they have specialized in the the past years in serving flights from Milan to Kazakhstan.

This is an anomaly for the airline’s core business that revolves around offering leisure travel options and serving charter flights for its parent company Alpitour. The anomaly is that this is a primarily business oriented service, serving workers and those doing business in Kazakhstan.

The airline has been serving flights to the central Asian country since 2022, when it launched flights to Almaty from Milan Malpensa. Now, Neos has launched a second service to the country serving the Caspian sea city of Atyrau.

Route Details and Aircraft Operating the Service

The flight, which flies under number NO763, launched on November 17th 2025 and will continue to be a regular presence in the Neos schedule until July 2026. Flights from Milan Malpensa to Atyrau will operate once per week, with an additional frequency coming in 2026. That second flight will also serve Almaty and will become available from March 2026 onwards.

Bringing the focus back to flight NO763 which is now operating between Milan Malpensa and Atyrau, the timings of this flight are:

The flight will be operated by the airline’s fleet of Boeing 737 MAX 8 which come in an all economy class configuration. With a fully loaded cabin these planes can seat up to 186 passengers, ensuring a hefty capacity for this flight.

A Strategic Link for Energy and Industrial Sectors

The flight, as mentioned above, is sort of an anomaly for Neos’ operations, being a business focused flight. The reason why Neos decided to serve these unusual routes from Milan to Kazakhstan is that there is growing trade and economic ties between the central Asian country, Italy and Europe as a whole.

Apart from becoming more popular as a tourist destination Kazakhstan is a strategic energy partner for many European countries and many European ventures have invested in Kazakh companies.

Neos spotted the opportunity to serve this niche early and addressed its needs. Now it is further expanding its presence leveraging the experience it built over the past years.
