Norse Atlantic set up its operations as a low-cost carrier primarily focusing on cheap transatlantic travel. The core demographic for this business model is the leisure traveler. However, in recent times, the airline has also started differentiating its routes and streams of revenue by heading east. Looking at winter 2025 Norse Atlantic is preparing to commence three new services to Thailand from Manchester, Oslo and Stockholm.

Norse Atlantic Airways Expands to Thailand: Three New Direct Routes Announced
First of all, these will not be Norse Atlantic’s first routes to Thailand as it already serves the country’s Bangkok Suvarnabhumi international airport from:
- Stockholm
- Oslo
- London Gatwick
However, flights to Thailand will soon be increasing by quite a margin for Norse Atlantic, as the Scandinavian low-cost carrier prepares to launch three new sectors:
- Manchester to Bangkok
- Oslo to Phuket
- Stockholm to Phuket

Manchester to Bangkok: First Ever Direct Flight Service
Let’s start by talking about the flight that stands out the most of the three, Norse Atlantic’s new flight from Manchester to Bangkok. Why do I say so? Because Norse had never operated flights from the city of Manchester, making it the newest addition to the list of airports served in Europe.
The flight is also the first ever direct connection between Manchester and Bangkok, creating new travel and more convenient holiday options for millions of UK-originating passengers.
There’s not that long to wait either before Norse Atlantic’s Boeing 787s cover the Manchester to Bangkok route. The new Norse flight to Bangkok is scheduled to take off for the very first time on November 26th, 2025.
New Norse Atlantic Manchester to Bangkok Flight Z0891
- Z0891 will depart Manchester (MAN) at 23:30 –> Arriving in Bangkok (BKK) at 18:00+1
- Z0892 will depart Bangkok (BKK) at 20:00 –> Arriving in Manchester (MAN) at 02:15+1
Norse Atlantic Airways is, after all, a low-cost carrier, so you’ll have to make the one weekly (every Wednesday) flight work for you.
Oslo and Stockholm to Phuket: Scandinavia’s New Winter Sun Routes
The other two routes will see new Norse Atlantic flights to a destination never served before: Phuket. This is even more of a leisure-oriented service as it takes travelers straight to their holiday destination.
Norse’s new flights to Phuket will both originate in Scandinavia, connecting to Phuket the cities of:
- Oslo – Starting December 8th 2025
- Stockholm – Starting December 4th 2025
New Norse Atlantic Oslo to Phuket Flight N095 (Every Monday)
- N095 will depart Oslo (OSL) at 22:00 –> Arriving in Phuket (HKT) at 15:40+1
- N096 will depart Phuket (HKT) at 17:40 –> Arriving in Oslo (OSL) at 12:50+1
New Norse Atlantic Stockholm to Phuket Flight N0195 (Every Thursday)
- N0195 will depart Stockholm (ARN) at 12:20 –> Arriving in Phuket (HKT) at 05:50+1
- N0196 will depart Phuket (HKT) at 07:50 –> Arriving in Stockholm (ARN) at 14:50
Building on Success: Norse Atlantic’s Growing Thailand Network
These new Norse Atlantic flights to Thailand are an expansion of the first phase, in which it first tested the market with flights to Bangkok. Having proven the viability of Thailand as a destination for its network it has now decided to expand further, offering flights directly to one of the most in demand destinations in the country Phuket.
If these direct flights to Phuket work, it’s likely we’ll see their frequency grow or even have them launch from other cities across Europe.
Flight Details and Booking Information
In terms of operations, the new Norse Atlantic flights to Thailand will all share the same aircraft type. After all, Norse only possesses the Boeing 787-9, having recently sold off its smaller 787-8s. These planes come in a 2-class configuration featuring:
- 56 Premium Economy Seats – in 2-3-2 layout
- 282 Economy Class Seats – in a standard 3-3-3 layout
Prices start very low, a round trip from Manchester to Bangkok booked today (July 4th, 2025) will cost you as little as 561$ (USD). However, that is on the Economy Light fare, which doesn’t offer much more than a seat and a carry-on bag.
Why Phuket and Manchester-Bangkok for Norse Atlantic’s Next Expansion
It makes total sense for Norse Atlantic to tap into Manchester for leisure travelers interested in going to Thailand, having already served the country’s No. 1 leisure airport, London Gatwick.
Manchester is England’s second largest population center and was yet to be served by a direct flight to Bangkok. A void which Norse Atlantic is ready to fill with the new flight launching on November 26th.
Looking at traffic figures, over 100,000 passengers travel between Manchester and Bangkok (plus an estimated extra 100,000 passengers via other airports), and to make a profit, Norse will only need to intercept a tiny fraction of that. To its advantage Norse will be leveraging the convenience factor, cutting out a stop in London for those departing Manchester.
What This Means for Travelers
Well, very briefly, it translates to more point-to-point travel towards some of the most in-demand tourist destinations during the winter months. All flights will launch just ahead of the peak winter holiday season, when Norse Atlantic will aim to capitalize on the rising wave of travelers escaping the harsh European winter.
