Qantas, the Australian flag carrier, is gradually returning to pre pandemic traffic levels. The way the airline is accomplishing this is by expanding its network to new or returning to destinations it served before the pandemic. QF79 is somewhat of a combination of the two. Although it’s not a new route Qantas will be serving a different airport than before. So let’s find out more about the new Melbourne Tokyo Flight QF79 by Qantas.
QF79 Says Goodbye to Narita And Hello to Haneda
As mentioned this is not a completely new flight. Qantas used to operate regularly scheduled flights from Melbourne to Tokyo before the pandemic. However the Australian flag carrier used to fly into Tokyo Narita Airport.
Narita is Tokyo’s second international which located a couple of hours outside of the city, therefore making it a bit uncomfortable for passengers ending their journey there.
The new Qantas QF79 Melbourne to Tokyo flight will be serving the much more central Tokyo Haneda airport (HND). This will significantly reduce travel time for passengers from the airport to downtown Tokyo.
