Winter Arctic Flight For LOT – New Service From Warsaw to Rovaniemi

LOT Polish Airlines Boeing 737-800 on Takeoff

LOT has really been active on evolving its route network in this first half of 2025. The airline has launched numerous flights in Europe trying to gain traffic and become a major force in European inbound traffic. The latest route network expansion takes the Polish airline to the Arctic circle in Finland.

LOT Goes to The Arctic Circle With Flight LO477 Warsaw to Rovaniemi

High season for destinations within the arctic circle counterintuitively is in the colder months when the magic of the Lapland landscapes really come alive. That’s when LOT plans to commence its newest service to Rovaniemi.

LO477 will commence service on November 27th 2025 and will continue to serve the Warsaw to Rovaniemi route until February 1st 2026 when traffic is expected to start dying down.

As you might have imagined this is a clearly leisure focused and oriented flight providing an option for travelers across Europe to make their way to this niche holiday destination.

Flights will operated twice weekly, I don’t imagine huge numbers of passengers traveling on this route, every Thursday and Sunday. Despite having a rather low frequency, LO477 will operate on a not so small Boeing 737 MAX 8 and not the smaller regional Embraer planes.

Flight LO477 will operate during the day in both directions getting out of Rovaniemi before it gets to far into the arctic night:

  • LO477: Departs Warsaw (WAW) at 13:35 arriving in Rovaniemi (RVN) at 15:20.
  • LO478: Departs Rovaniemi (RVN) at 16:50 arriving in Warsaw (WAW) at 18:30.

LOT Boeing 737 MAX 8 planes are fitted with a one class configuration capable of seating up to 186 passengers. Business class is the standard Euro-Biz experience made up of economy class seats with the middle row blocked to create a 2-2 layout, while the rest of the plane is in the full 3-3 setup.
