The Boeing 737 MAX Secures 150 Orders In One Go

Turkish Airlines is one of the global aviation heavyweights. An airline that simply is too big to be ignored by any manufacturer, and constantly trying in every way to secure orders with. Simply because orders with Turkish Airlines are on another level, without tiptoeing around it, they are massive.

Turkish Airlines latest announced order is no exception. The Turkish flag carrier ha just placed an order for up to 150 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft to further expand and renovate its narrow body fleet.

The order was announced today, September 23rd 2026, and the Boeing press release states it was finalized in presence of Erdogan, the Turkish president. Meaning it must have taken place during Erdogan’s trip to the US for the UN general assembly.

The Order Composition

As mentioned above the order is for up to 150 aircraft. That means that they are not all 150 firm orders, nonetheless this remains the airline’s largest single-aisle aircraft order.

Turkish Airlines placed a firm order for 100 aircraft with options for 50 more.

Those 100 aircraft are Boeing 737 MAX 8 planes with the remaining options left open with the possibility to order a different variant. Speaking of different variants the agreement between Boeing and Turkish Airlines also includes options to upgrade part or all those firm orders to the largest aircraft of the family, the 737 MAX 10.

This new order follows up with the airline’s wide body order in 2025, when Turkish Airlines ordered 75 Boeing 787 Dreamliners.

Where Will These Aircraft Fly To?

The aircraft will enable Turkish Airlines to continue renovating its fleet and further expanding its operations. Turkish Airlines still operates a significant number of 737NG aircraft which are most definitely on their way out and the arrival of more MAX generation planes will facilitate that.

These planes will be deployed on Turkish Airlines’ routes to Europe, North Africa and Central Asia.
