Qantas’ frequent flyer program is massively popular in Australia, picture this more than 50% of the Aussie population is signed up to the airline’s loyalty program. Overall the figure of total members is north of 16 million worldwide, those are massive numbers for an airline that focuses almost exclusively on an Australian clientele. Such popularity is a formidable asset to leverage when cutting out deals with new partners as done with Hawaiian Airlines a few months back in early 2025. Now the frequent flyer partnership between the carriers is ready for takeoff.
What Does The Qantas Hawaiian Airlines Partnership Hold For Travelers?
On the Qantas end of the deal passengers will be able do use their Frequent Flyers miles to redeem flights on Hawaiian Airlines services. The agreement covers a list of 10 international and 10 US destinations, among which are all four major Hawaiian islands, which as you might have imagined are widely popular as a holiday destination.
Also the new partnership comes off the back of Hawaiian Airlines, in partnership with its new parent company Alaska Airlines, commencing operations across the Pacific Ocean also serving Sydney Airport among other destinations and Qantas launching new flights from Melbourne to Honolulu.

These new flights, effectively create a one stop trip to many US destinations making redeeming awards flights with Hawaiian an interesting proposition for Qantas Frequent Flyers.
The agreement was signed and sealed in early 2025 (January), but is only going into effect now. Starting June 5th Hawaiian Airlines flights will be redeemable with Qantas loyalty points.
To wrap things up for this post, there is another perk we’ve not yet covered. On codeshared flights, booked via Qantas (which have a QF flight number) for travel between the islands and the US mainland, Qantas Frequent Flyers will accrue Status Credits which contribute to maintaining or achieving status in the Australian airline loyalty program.
