British Airways Adds Flights to Aruba and Guyana to Its Network

British Airways has been significantly expanding its destination network in 2023. The British flag carrier, as many airlines around the world, is trying to get back to pre pandemic passenger and revenue figures. The latest additions to the British Airways destination network are Aruba (AUA) and Guyana (GEO). That is exactly what I'll be talking about in this post. Let's dive into the news from BA.

About The New British Airways London Aruba Flight BA2157

The first British Airways London Aruba flight took off on Sunday the 26th of March and will be a twice weekly connection. The flight will operate out of the London Gatwick (LGW) airport.

It won't be a direct flight though. There will be a short 1 hour stop in Antigua before flying to Aruba's Queen Beatrix International Airport (AUA).

The new British Airways London Aruba will fly with number BA2157 covering the route on Thursdays and Sundays. This will be BA2157's schedule:

  • BA2157 will depart London Gatwick (LGW) at 10:00 arriving into into Aruba (AUA) at 17:00 after a short stop in Antigua. The total journey time is estimated to be 12 hours.
  • The return flight BA2158 will depart Aruba (AUA) at 18:30 arriving back into London Gatwick (LGW) at 10:25 the next morning. Total journey time, including the stop in Antigua is estimated to be 10 hours 55 minutes.

About The New British Airways London Georgetown Guyana Flight BA2159

The new British Airways flight BA2159 from London Gatwick to Georgetown, Guyana, also has already started operations. The flight has been active starting March 27th 2023.

This London Georgetown flight will also be a twice weekly flight operating with via St. Lucia on its route. Flight BA2159 will fly every Monday and Thursday. As for the schedule here's what it'll look like:

  • BA2159 will depart London Gatwick (LGW) at 11:35 arriving into into Georgetown, Guyana, (GEO) at 18:05 after a short stop in St. Lucia. The total journey time is estimated to be 11 hours 30 minutes.
  • The return flight BA2160 will depart Georgetown (GEO) at 19:50arriving back into London Gatwick (LGW) at 11:45 the next morning. Total journey time, including the stop in St. Lucia is estimated to be 10 hours 55 minutes.

The Aircraft for Flights BA2157 and BA2159

The two new British Airways flights share the same equipment. Specifically one of BA's Boeing 777-200 will serve both destinations. These planes, based in London Gatwick, feature a 3 class cabin configuration offering:

  • 32 Business Class flat bed seats (Club World)
  • 48 Premium Economy class seats (World Traveller Plus)
  • 252 Economy Class seats (World Traveller)
