Porter Launches New Miami Toronto Winter Service

One of the most ambitious airlines in North America is without a doubt Porter Airlines. The Canadian carrier is working hard to establish itself as a viable option for travelers in the region basing its operations on the highly fuel efficient Embraer E195-E2. As the airline receives more jets it is constantly expanding its route network even with medium haul flights. Just as is the case with the latest addition, the new Porter Airlines Miami to Toronto flight PD542. Here are all the details about the new service and when it'll launch.

About Porter Airlines Miami to Toronto Flight PD542

The new flight from Miami to Toronto marks the first service that the Canadian airline operates at MIA. The new flight will start operating on December 12th 2023 and will offer from the get go daily services throughout the week.

Canada is quite a relevant market for the Miami region. In fact Porter Airlines states that in 2022 over 600,000 passengers travelled from MIA to Canada. Therefore Porter, with its capability of offering connecting domestic flight, hopes to intercept and enhance these passenger figures with their new service. Miami International Airport will also be Porter Airlines' most southern destination served.

The Plane For the New Miami to Toronto Flight

As mentioned at the beginning of the post, all of Porter's medium haul services are operated using the Brazilian made Embraer E195-E2. One of the most advanced new generation narrow body planes.

These planes are among the quietest on the market and have one of the smaller CO2 footprints out there. The plane is configured in a 1 class cabin seating up to 132 passengers in a 2-2 layout. However the first 4 rows of the Porter E195-E2 have a slightly wider pitch with extra leg room.

The cabin layout is one of the airline's selling points as there are no middle seats you can get stuck into with a 2-2 configuration. Also free wifi drink and snack are included in the fare.
