This week we have seen some significant announcements from Singapore Airline. The Singaporean carrier is in fact working on its 2024 winter and 2025 summer schedule adjusting its services to reflect passenger volumes and demand forecasts. 2025 will bring some major changes in the airline's services to the UK. Specifically, regarding its flights to London and Manchester. Here's what you need to know before planning your next flights from or to the UK with Singapore Airlines.
London to Get More Singapore Airlines Flights in 2025
There are very few destinations and cities in the world that are as important to airlines as London. The British capital attracts massive numbers of tourists and business travellers alike. As I often say, for major connector airlines, such as Singapore Airlines, there is no such thing as too many seats on London routes. The only thing holding them back from operating more flights is London Heathrow's slot constraints.
So, how's Singapore Airlines starting more flights to London then? They're upping their frequencies at London's second largest airport Gatwick. Starting March 30th 2025 the airline will up its flights from 5 times weekly to a daily frequency on flight number SQ312. That, combined with its 4 daily flights to Heathrow, translates to 5 daily flights between London and Singapore.
Just as a reminder, Singapore London Gatwick flights are operated using the airline's Airbus A350-900s which feature:
- 42 Business class seats
- 24 Premium Economy seats
- 187 Economy class seats
| Flight Number | Departure Airport | Airport Code | Departure Time | Arrival Airport | Airport Code | Arriva Time | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SQ312 | Singapore | SIN | 23:55 | London Gatwick | LGW | 06:25+1 | |
| SQ309 | London Gatwick | LGW | 10:15 | Singapore | SIN | 06:20+1 |

Goodbye SQ Manchester Houston Fifth Freedom Flights
As London is set to get more Singapore Airlines flight frequencies, Manchester will se a reduction in of flights. It won't be actually be losing flights from and to Singapore, however, its will be losing a flight to the US. The Singaporean carrier has in fact decided to pull back from its fifth freedom of the skies service from Manchester to Houston, Texas. With this flight out of the picture there won't be anymore non-stop connections available between Manchester and Texas.
The schedule change will take effect on April 1st 2025, and no it's not an April fool's joke. However, SQ302 and return flight SQ301 from Manchester to Singapore will remain active albeit with a slightly diffent schedule, as there will no longer be that long flight to the US in between the return flights between Singapore and Manchester. Here's the new schedule:
| Flight Number | Departure Airport | Airport Code | Departure Time | Arrival Airport | Airport Code | Arriva Time | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SQ302 | Singapore | SIN | 02:10 | Manchester | MAN | 08:55+1 | |
| SQ301 | Manchester | MAN | 11:15 | Singapore | SIN | 07:40+1 |
